Bike to Work Day - May 18, 2012
Friday, May 18th is "Bike to Work Day" in the greater Lafayette area. On that day many cyclists will join together as we ride to our workplaces. Our numbers will tell the community how important bicycling is in our area as a means of purposeful transportation.
On that morning we will hold a short rally at 7:30AM at Main & 11th St. in Lafayette, and all bicyclists are invited to attend. The mayors of our fair cities will address the participants, and proclaim it "Bike to Work Day," as well as remind everyone that May is Bike Month in our area and throughout much of the nation. Refreshments will be served, information about bicycling in our area will be distributed, and the local media will cover the event. Come join in the fun and show our community that bicycling is good for our health, good for the environment, and is a great social activity. Note that we will wrap up by 8AM so all can get to work on time. Hope to see you there!
